A well-established company in the consumer goods/manufacturing/distribution space is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join its accounting and finance team on a temp-to-hire basis. This role reports directly to the Director of Accounting & Finance and supports full-cycle accounting operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounting functions including AP, AR, and General Ledger
• Prepare and post journal entries and maintain supporting documentation
• Perform monthly bank, credit card, and account reconciliations
• Assist with month-end and year-end close
• Generate monthly financial reports for leadership
• Support payroll processing and related reporting
• Maintain and reconcile inventory-related accounting
• Prepare and file sales tax and regulatory reports (multi-state)
• Assist with audits, budgets, and expense tracking
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company policies
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiency
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations and Supply Chain

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required)
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles
• Experience with large ERP systems
• Advanced Excel skills required
• Background in consumer goods, manufacturing, or distribution preferred
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• High level of integrity with ability to handle confidential information
• Professional written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• In-office availability required
